How do I start Utility Service with the Town?

Do I need to connect to Town or County water and sewer?
All properties within city limits are to be connected with Town water and sewer service. If you are inquiring about a property with a Burgaw address, but located outside of the city limits, please contact Pender County Utilities at 910-259-1570. 

What day is garbage and recycling pick-up?
Household garbage is picked up every Wednesday and recycling roll carts are picked up every other Wednesday. Garbage roll carts and recycling roll carts should be by the curb no later than 7 AM. Yard debris, white goods, etc. are picked up by the Public Works Department on Fridays beginning at 7:30 AM. Click here for more information on household garbage and recycling service.

How do I change the name on my account?
If you need to change the name on your account, the new responsible party would need to contact Town Hall to have a new account opened. A credit check and deposit would need to be paid by the new responsible party. If the current account holder is deceased, there may be a possibility the Town will work with the family on changing account names without closing the current account and opening a new one. Are there any facilities in Burgaw to rent for an event?
The Town of Burgaw has a Community House available for rent 7 days a week. For information on renting the Burgaw Community House, please click here.

There are several parks located around Town, and one of those can be reserved for special events. The Hankins Park Pavilion, which is located on the corner of North Walker Street and East Wallace Street, is available for rent 7 days a week. Reservations can be made for the pavilion only. The remaining park area is open to the public at all times. To view information about reservations and for the application, please click here.

The Town of Burgaw also handles rentals for The Burgaw Depot, which is located on the railroad right-of-way in historic downtown Burgaw. For more information on renting the Burgaw Depot, please contact Kim Rivenbark at 910-663-3452.
