Yard Waste & Household Debris
Public Works picks upyard waste & household debris normally on Fridays excluding holidays.
Yard waste may include grass clippings, leaves and pine straw, trimmings, and limbs. Household debris may include white goods, bulky trash, appliances, Christmas trees, etc. All debris must be placed at curbside or street edge in accordance with the Town of Burgaw Vegetative Debris Policy.
A customer may request a Special Pick-Up to have additional waste materials such as larger amounts of yard waste, household debris, furniture, “white goods,” etc. removed. A special pick-up may be charged back to the customer based on the collection and disposal cost of the material.
Due to complex and strict regulations regarding disposal of solid waste it is very important that you do not mix different types of waste, such as placing yard waste in your garbage container or mingling trash with yard waste. MIXED WASTE WILL NOT BE PICKED UP!
