Burgaw announces new Summer on the Square Concert Series
BURGAW, NC – Through a partnership between the Town of Burgaw, the North Carolina Blueberry Festival and Pender County, a series of free concerts will be held on the courthouse square this summer.
“We are excited for the inaugural Summer on the Square concert series,” said Zachary White, Burgaw Parks and Recreation Director. “The purpose of this event is to help bring people to downtown Burgaw.”
The following artists will perform at this year’s series:
· JT Parrothead – Friday May 18 at 6 P.M.
· No Sleeves Magic – Friday June 15 at 5 P.M. (North Carolina Blueberry Festival)
· The Embers featuring Craig Woolard – Friday June 15 at 7 P.M. (North Carolina Blueberry Festival)
· Soul on the Beach – Friday July 20 at 6 P.M.
· Dos Eddies – Friday August 17 at 6 P.M.
“The North Carolina Blueberry Festival is happy to collaborate with the Town of Burgaw to intertwine our events for this year’s summer concerts on the courthouse square” said Olivia Dawson, North Carolina Blueberry Festival Director.
“We tried to be versatile and bring in entertainment that will appeal to different age groups,” said White. “I believe this will be a well-received event and that we will be able to grow the series in the years to come.”
“This concert series is for all Pender County residents and visitors,” said Dee Turner, Pender County Parks and Recreation Supervisor. “We want to offer a family friendly atmosphere.”
The concerts are free and will be held on the Pender County courthouse square. All shows will begin at 6 P.M., unless otherwise stated. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the entertainment. Various food vendors will be on site throughout the series. The Summer on the Square Concert Series is sponsored in conjunction with the Town of Burgaw, North Carolina Blueberry Festival, Pender County, Burgaw Area Chamber of Commerce, and Pender Memorial Hospital.
